STEFAN HERSH
Violinist Stefan Hersh enjoys a varied career, equally at home as a chamber musician,
soloist, orchestral musician and pedagogue. He is the Director of String Chamber music
and artist faculty at the Chicago College of the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
Hersh previously served as head of the string department on the faculty of De Paul University.
He has been a featured guest artist nationally and internationally at venues including the
Cremona International Music Academy in Italy, the Festival Campos do Jordao in Brasil, the
Festicamara in Medellin, Colombia, the Colorado College Summer Festival, the Olympic Music
Festival, Moab Music Festival, the Taos Summer Music Festival, the Tucson Winter Festival
and the Mendocino Music Festival.
Hersh's career as a performer has included positions as Principal Second Violin of the
Minnesota Orchestra, and Associate Concertmaster of the Vancouver Symphony. Hersh was a
founding member of the Chicago based Callisto Ensemble, and of the Chicago String Quartet.
